Icky run

This morning when I took the puppy outside, the humidity washed over me.  I knew it was going to be an icky day for a run but hoped that it would get at least a little bit better before this afternoon.  While I was making my breakfast, I ran out of my usual cereal, which made me a little sad.  My husband offered to go by the store on his way home to get more, which I greatly appreciated.

Today was the first day at work that I have had any time to breathe since the school year started.  I could have used that time to be more productive than I actually was, but the slightly lower level of productivity was nice for a few hours.  By the end of the day, I was ready to get back to work so I am sure I will ramp the productivity level back up tomorrow.

When I get home, I changed and got ready to head out running.  It wasn't as humid as it had been this morning, but it was hot!  The temperature outside was 92 and the Weather Channel said it felt like 96!  I believe it!  My friend had just done her long run for the week, 8 miles, last night so we took it easy, comparatively easy today.  It was a nice relaxing run for her and a slightly slow tempo run for me.  We went 2.5 miles in our 30 minutes of running, which isn't too shabby for an easy-ish run.

When the run was over, I went inside and grabbed a towel to wipe myself off as I was literally dripping.  I was proud of doing my run, although for the last 10 minutes both my friend and I wanted to quit.  I always dislike the actual run on days like today but know that I will feel awesome and a bit proud for sticking it out in the heat.

Tomorrow is supposed to be just as hot but with a 30 percent chance of rain.  We are going to do our run at 6 to let it cool down a little bit, but we are both rooting for the rain; rain, but no lightning!

After I got changed, my husband and I went downstairs and had dinner.  We actually ate dinner sitting at the table!  We typically eat at the coffee table and watch something together, even if it is just the news.  Today, however, we both sat at the kitchen table and chatted for a bit.  After we exhausted our chatting, we both pulled out a magazine and read.  It was very relaxing!

After dinner, I did some digitizing of parts of six books for my husband.  I hadn't done that for a while since I have been busy with my own projects.  We then sat down together to watch the President's address.  After which, I had some tea and went to bed!
