Vacay Day 5 - The Country in Missouri

This morning on my run I decided to see if I could get to a more level area to run in if I went up the hill at the end of our street instead of down and boy was I glad I did.  At the top of the hill it was so much more level and there were lots of streets with little neighborhoods for me to turn off into to run through.  There were so many that I lost track of my run and headed home later than I thought.  I didn't do any extra running (I am not completely crazy yet) but I did do about an extra 0.6 of walking.

As I was heading out for my run this morning, I realized that I have run every morning of vacation so far.  It is going to be weird to not run tomorrow, but I will still be up early.  I am taking my husband to the airport to head fly back home.  He is taking a class this summer and doesn't want to miss a week of classes so he will fly back early.

After my run I ate breakfast, hung out with the family for a bit and then went and took a nap.  I knew I would need one today and I didn't want to need it when we were at my aunt and uncle's house today so I took it early.

My husband woke me up in time to get our stuff together and head out.  When we got there we had some amazing smoked pork tenderloin my uncle made with mac & cheese, twice baked potatoes, rolls, corn on the cob and salad.  After that, we headed out to their back pasture and shot clay pigeons with the shotguns.

Me trying to shoot.

When we ran out of clays, we headed back to the house to swim for a few hours.  Then we shot handguns and 22s from the back porch (yes there was quite a bit of shooting going on).  We had some sandwiches for dinner and then some of us left to go on the zip line.

The zip line was awesome!  We got a little lesson (it was raining during that time but it stopped before we got to the real course), did two small shorter practice lines and then did the big course.  It took around 30 to 40 minutes for the four of us to do all the lines.  Some of the lines were 1/3 of a mile long (it would take me around 4 minutes to run that far and we zipped it in 35 seconds!)  The last line was the "freestyle" line, where we got to do whatever we wanted and go upside down or backwards or whatever.  I went upside down and backwards, woo hoo!
Me in my climbing gear!
The starting tower for our zip line (it did rain right before we started, so that explains the dark sky)
After that we went back to the house and relaxed.  Tomorrow I have to get up to take my husband to the airport in Arkansas.  My brother is going to come with me and we will get to see my cousin while we are there.
