Vacay Day 6 - Mini Trip to Arkansas

This morning, I got up, got ready and drove with my husband and brother to Arkansas to see my cousin and drop my husband off at the airport.  The distance was only about 90 miles or so, but because off all the hills and curves it took us a little over 2 hours!  I am not used to the time being greater than the distance traveled.

We got there around 9:30, dropped off my husband and waited to meet up with my cousin.  He met up with us around 10:15 and went to get a late breakfast/early lunch. It was awesome to get to catch up with our cousin, we hadn't seen him since our family's last vacation took us to Arkansas 2 years ago.

After eating, he wanted to show a local art museum, but apparently the it is closed on Tuesdays, so we couldn't get in to see it.  So we walked on the trails around the museum for 30 minutes and then we went our separate ways.

My brother and I drove back to our vacation home, but instead of going straight back to the house, we headed to a car dealership to have them check out my brakes.  They started squeaking when I applied heavy pressure to them during the trip.  All that should mean is that my car needs new brake pads and maybe shoes, but it shouldn't be anything serious.  Since I won't be needed to drive until Friday, I thought it would be better to take it in now than to wait until I got back from my trip.  We dropped it off at the dealership and my Dad came to pick us up.

We then went to see Man of Steel at the theater with my family.  It was pretty good.  I thought it balanced giving a good back story with getting on with current events and seems to have set a good foundation.  It didn't scream sequel, but there were definitely things that would lend themselves to tying into a future movie.

After the movie, we went to Steak n Shake for dinner.  They are all over Ohio, but I hadn't been to one yet.  The food was fine, especially for the price, but our service was rather slow and nit very good.  We had to ask for several pieces of our meal twice and there were some things we never got (they were only glasses of water and we shared so it wasn't the end of the world).  They were nice and tried to get us everything we asked for, it just was not very quick.

After that, we went home and relaxed until bedtime.  Some of my cousins leave tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see what we do.
