Vacay Day 18 - Last Day (not counting driving)

This morning I got up a little after 6, which is good.  I needed to start getting up earlier so the readjustment to the eastern time zone will be a bit easier.  Sunday mornings have lately felt a little weird, since I don't run.  I never have run regularly on Sunday, but since I run on both Fridays and Saturdays my body thinks I should be running.

Went to church this morning with my in-laws.  My husband and I attended this church when we lived in town, so I was glad to go see some familiar faces.  I got to see and chat with a good group of people and there are just a handful of people who I didn't get to see.  The last few times I have gone to this church, I am more and more struck by how many of the people I don't know.  I know it is a good thing, it means the church is going and reaching new people, but it makes me sad that it is no longer the same church my husband and I first went to together.

After church we had leftovers for lunch and then nap time!  I really do like to take naps and it is pretty awesome that it is part of the daily schedule here.  After my nap, I called and chatted with my husband for a while.  I am really starting to miss him and I am glad that I decided to head home tomorrow instead of Tuesday.  It will be better for my race and way better for my sanity.  I also called my grandparents to make sure I could stay with them tomorrow night.  I had asked earlier but I didn't have a specific date.  They were of course fine with it and looking forward to seeing me (again).

I have mostly packed up my bags and will try to get most of them loaded tonight.  There will be little things to load tomorrow morning after my run, but getting the big bag loaded up tonight will make things easier in the morning.  I am also packing so that I won't have to bring my huge bag into my grandparent's house tomorrow night. Again this will make things easier for everyone involved.

After dinner (pizza, yay!), we watched Secretariat which I had never seen before.  It was a good movie.  I think I enjoyed watching it more because I was watching with my mother-in-law.  She always watches the three Triple Crown races and has gotten us into watching them.  It is a relatively easy sport to get into. There are only 3 races and there are only 5 weeks between them; the races only take about 2 minutes to watch; if you watch for 15 minutes before the race starts, you will be an expert on the race; after the first one, almost everyone is rooting for the same horse; and what girl doesn't like horses.

A good movie, that was actually new to me!
Before we went for our evening walk, I did the actual loading of my car and we rearranged the cars in the driveway so people could leave when they needed to tomorrow morning.  My car was in the middle, where it needed to be, but the other two cars were switched so we all had to back out and move the cars around.  Apparently we are not the only ones who ever do this because as we were heading back from our evening walk, we saw another family down the  lock doing the same thing!

I will be glad to be on the road tomorrow.  I am so ready to be home.  I am tired of living out of my suitcase and having the same set of clothes to wear.  I am also kind of tired of having to be social all the time.  I love my family and I am glad for every moment that I have gotten to spend with them, but I desperately need some time to myself.  The two days of driving will help.  I think that has also been why it hasn't been too much of a challenge to get up to run lately since that is most definitely time to myself.
