Busy, Busy, Busy

I slept very soundly last night, probably due to the Tylenol PM, and woke up feeling ready to tackle anything.  That ended up being a really good thing because work was crazily busy today! The students were the same but the other stuff was non-stop.

I had a big project that was due this afternoon that I was waiting on input from the other teachers about.  I had sent out an email Monday about it, sent out another email this morning and a third one at lunch time and I still didn't get input from everyone, so I worked with what I got.  I also discovered that for one of my classes, the links for an entire course were broken!  When I explored around the site they linked to, I found out they hadn't just been moved, they had been removed, so I spent a few hours trying to find a suitable replacement.

After that I had a meeting with my director to show him the OGT prep stuff I had been working on.  He ended up loving it and was super excited about it.  However, he was less excited about my idea to show what I had done to all the other math teachers and have them each contribute to a part of it.  There is a lot to do and being able to share some of the work with others and then all be able to use it sounded like a great plan.  He wasn't down on me wanting to lighten my load, but he was not super excited about anyone other than me doing the project.  I have, it seems, so thoroughly convinced him that I am a really good teacher that he is concerned about other people making the other parts of it not as stellar.  He was understanding about me needing more time to work on the project if I was going to do it all myself and was willing to work my schedule around so I could spend more of my working hours on it.  (I am very glad that he is willing to give me the time since I he isn't willing to let me delegate some of it).

After that I went home, worked on the project for a little while, had dinner and then prepared to do my run.  My knee was feeling all normal again so I was kind of excited to run, although the fact that it was 50 minutes made me a little nervous.  It was an easy run, which I usually do at around 13, but I thought it would be really cool if I could do 4 miles in my 50 minutes, so I did 3/4 of a mile at 12:45 and then another 1/4 mile at 11:45, which gave me a 12:30 mile pace.  I moved the 1/4 mile of faster pace around, sometimes doing it all at once at the end of a mile, sometimes doing it all in the middle and sometimes doing randomly-sized chunks within the mile.  Basically, since I was on the treadmill, whenever I got bored I would change the speed some.  It definitely made the time seem to fly by and my 50 minutes was up before I knew it.  4.03 miles non-stop!  Woot!

After my run, and right before bed, I was craving chocolate so I scoured my pantry and came up with a mini-molten microwave chocolate cake.  While it was microwaving, I decided that ice cream would be good on it, so I went to the freezer to get some.  I wanted vanilla, but we only had chocolate.  I decided that chocolate would be fine, so it went on to the bowl.  It was not the most delicious thing I had ever tasted but it was yummy and it definitely satisfied my chocolate craving, which is good.
