Fire

This morning my body really did not want to get up.  I had a solid, uninterrupted sleep so waking up was much more difficult to do than normal.  We had breakfast in our room this morning (I finally opened up the cinnamon toast crunch I bought).  I also had tea, which was helpful in finally and fully waking me up.  After breakfast, we broke in our souvenir deck of cards by playing a game of gin rummy, which I won.  After that we loaded up and headed to DHH.

We spent the morning there and we finished up all of the actual boxes we have to do, but not the stack of file folders.  We got into them a bit today, but not too far because we headed over to LAC at lunch time.  We stopped at a place called Burritos Gringos for lunch, which was something like a Chipotle.  It was pretty good, although the Texan in me wanted to criticize their burrito rolling skills and the lack of any heat at all in their mild salsa.  Overall it was good and filling.

We ate the food back at our hotel room and were just about to head out to LAC when the fire alarm in the hotel went off!  My husband grabbed his backpack, I put on shoes and we headed downstairs (after making sure we had at least one room key between us).  We directed outside and across the street.  We waited a few minutes and then 3 fire trucks showed up.  At that point I guessed it was going to be a little while before we were going to be able to get into the garage (which is under the hotel) to get our cameras, so I suggested we walk the two blocks over to LAC, get settled in, organize our stuff and then trek back over to the hotel to see if we could get our stuff.  At the very least, we could read though things and sort out what we wanted to photograph.

We did just that and by the time we got all settled in, I looked out one of the windows and saw that the fire trucks were gone.  I went back to the hotel, grabbed our cameras from the car, and then headed back to LAC.  When I got back, my husband was still dealing with some issues that arose from our latest pull, so I sat down to work on this post.  Since I am not nearly as certain about what we are looking for as my husband is, I am not very good at working completely independently.  If I am given a place to start, I can knock stuff out fairly well, but I had no idea of what to do, so I just waited.

After a little bit, he got out stuff for me to photograph and I went to work.  We took a break for dinner.  We got a small lasagna from House of Lasagna to eat (pasta the night before a race is always a good thing).  We took it back to the hotel and ate less than 1/4th of it.  We put what was left into our little fridge to have for leftovers and then went back to LAC for another round of researching.

We made sure to leave at a decent hour so that I would be well rested for my run tomorrow.  I got out all of my run gear and put it all in one place.  I set my alarm for 5:30 so I could eat my breakfast and give my tummy as much time to digest it as possible.

I think my husband is really enjoying having the library so close.  It means we can eat in out hotel room and even take after lunch naps and not miss out on too much time, nor spend too much gas, going back and forth.
