Hectic Day

This morning I was able to get my husband to come on the morning walk with me and the puppy.  It was nice to have him with me!  I enjoyed the walk a little bit more having some company with me!

I got to school and today was rather hectic.  The students who were at school yesterday needed to start on their classes while we still had a large number of students who had their first day and had to do all the required testing.  That made today rather hectic.  I felt like I didn't do a great job with either but it will get better.  As more and more students have finished their first day stuff and have gotten their basic instructions on how to work through their courses, things should settle in more.

I did have a young lady enroll in our most advanced math course, which had not happened in over a year.  The course was in a bit of a shambles since it hadn't been worked on in so long (broken and missing links) so I spent all of the time where I wasn't doing anything student related working on getting that working well.  I got the first few chapters done, but I have about 8 more to go.  The most important thing is to stay ahead of her, although I would prefer getting it all done sooner rather than later so I don't have to worry about it.

When I got home, I really didn't want to run.  I just wasn't in the mood at all and was very tempted to skip it entirely.  In order to get myself to run, I decided that I would run at an easy pace instead of doing my scheduled intervals.  That gave me enough happiness to actually get on the treadmill.  I also convinced my husband to come and chat with me for the last 10 minutes or so, which helped a lot.  I did 2.4 miles in my 30 minutes, so I was content.  I was glad I did my run after it was over.

For dinner I made pasta with meat sauce that I knew my husband would really like.  The sauce was ground beef mixed into a "special" pasta sauce.  I had used this sauce to cook a pot roast in previously so it was infused with beef flavor which made the whole thing taste very meaty.  It was almost a little too meaty for me, but he really enjoyed it.

After dinner, I spent a while working on the course for school.  It isn't difficult to fix, but it is tedious and slow, so very slow!  I spent an hour working on it and got one chapter done.  I have 8 more to go, boo!

After all that work, I got my husband to drive us over to McDonald's so I could get an ice cream come.  I had really been wanting one for a few days and today I felt like I had earned it with my run and hard work on school stuff, so we went.  It really hit the spot.

After the ice cream, I did some more photo-taking for my husband (it sure does seem like I do that often).  And now that I am all done with that, I am off to bed!
