I weighed in this morning at 135.6. That's up a little bit from last week, but still in my summer maintenance range. I had a one "scary" number this week, but since it went away by the next day, I decided it must have been water weight or something weird like that. Every week I am more and more happy about my weight. I know I say this each Friday (at least so far) but I am so thankful that my body has adjusted so well to this new weight. It has been so much less stressful this summer to not have to worry about my weight. I think about what I eat, but I haven't had to worry excessively.
This morning, I took my husband to school so that I could pick him up from school this afternoon and head straight to the airport afterwards to pick up his parents. I was in a rather stressed mood because since neither of us were around yesterday, neither of us got to do our weekend chores so I will get to do both mine and his before I go to pick him up from school. Because of that, I went to Tim Horton's for breakfast and got a doughnut and a bagel. They were both so good!
I stopped by the grocery store and got the normal stuff for the week plus some extra things that my in-laws requested for them. When I got home, I unloaded the groceries and put stuff away. I also, while everything was out, did prep work for the two "non-leftover" meals we will be eating while my in-laws are in town. I seasoned the steak we are grilling tonight and I put the pork and BBQ sauce into a crock pot to be cooked for pulled pork sandwiches tomorrow night.
After that, I worked on laundry, tidied up the house, wiped down the kitchen counters, Clorox wiped the bathrooms and did some more digitizing for my husband.. I also finalized my route for tomorrow morning so that I could be sure I would go 5 miles, no less and not much more. Since the plan, right now, is to drive for about 1.5 hours and people would like to leave around 7:30, I don't have time to spare running even a little bit further (and longer) than I need to.
I had lunch, finished the laundry and then headed out to pick up my husband and then his parents. After we picked them up from the airport, we dropped his parents off at their hotel so they could rest for a little while before they came over hang out with us. We went home and I had my husband do a few little things for me so the house would be all ready when they came over later. They didn't rent a car so I will always have warning when they are coming over since one of us will have to go pick them up.
At around 4 we went to get my in-laws and headed back to our place. We showed them our house and chatted until dinner. We had steak, rolls, grapes, and corn-on-the-cob. After dinner went went downtown to see the sights and then went to have ice cream. My in-laws we a little disoriented about how late it stays light here, since we a much further north than they are in Texas.
A key figure in a book my father-in-law is currently reading. (We purposely sought out this statue so he could get a picture of it) |
