Hot! Tea!

Last night I slept really crummy again.  I was really tired (thanks to my last minute Zumba session) but it was rather hot upstairs.  I put a fan on me and I got cool quickly enough, I just couldn't get to sleep.  I may be taking my sleepy time medicine again tonight.

I got up around 6:45 and had breakfast, including a cup of hot tea.  Normally I only drink my breakfast tea on the weekends, to keep it special, but since I was so sleepy I thought the extra caffeine would be good to wake me up a bit this morning.  I didn't really like hot tea, I would drink it sometimes with some sugar and it was alright, until I added cream and cinnamon.  Not lots of cream, just a tablespoon, but enough to make it rich and delicious!

I freeze the cream, so it melts when I add it (which also cools the tea down more quickly).
Those little brown fleck are the cinnamon I add swirling around.
After breakfast I worked on my bible study for tonight (I always seem to put that off until the last minute) and then spent most of the rest of the morning working on projects for my husband.  Basically, when there is book or article he has gotten for a project which he cannot keep for the duration of the project, we make a digital copy of it so he will still have access to it.  If it is a small number of pages, we use our scanner, but when it is several chapters in a book, we use my DSLR and take pictures of it.  When he has a lot going on and I don't (which ends up being most of the summer), he asks me to help him out.  He give me fairly clear directions about what parts he needs, and then I do the rest.

Our digital imaging setup.
After lunch, I tidied up the house a little bit and then spent the rest of the afternoon, until my run, working on my run book.  I have talked about it previously here.  I needed to add my last three races to it and I finally got it all done.  Now it is current, at least for a  few more weeks until my race in Canada.

When I got ready for my run today, I realized just how long my hair has gotten.  I put it up in a high ponytail and the end of it was still below my collar.  So I decided to throw it up in a bun.  I had never run with my hair in a bun before (in two buns as Princess Leia, yes but in a single bun, no) so I wasn't sure how well it would work.  I sprayed a little bit of hairspray on it to help keep it in place and then my friend and I went running.  The bun only lasted about 1/2 mile before it fell down.  I'm going to have to find something else to do with my hair while I run.

My friend officially signed up for the half marathon.  I am super excited that she's going to be running it as well!  It was super hot during our run and the last 10 minutes or so neither of us talked at all.  We struggled in the heat.  At least today was an easy run day.  I hope it isn't this hot for our run on Wednesday.  Maybe if it is I will suggest that we wait until later on in the evening to run.

Tonight I was signed up to bring snacks to bible study, so I brought a bunch of fresh fruit.  I thought it was a good choice and so did several other people.  I liked it because it was something I didn't mind bringing home.  One of my friends wasn't at bible study tonight, so I called her on the way to home to make sure everything was ok.  Everything was fine, just too hectic for her to come tonight.  We talked for about 40 minutes and then we got off the phone so we could each head to bed.
