Cleaning: Done!

I slept horribly again last night.  I am not sure what it is but starting at around 3 I can't seem to stay asleep.  When I finally start to get into a deeper sleep again, it is 6:30 and the sun is waking me up.  I think I will have to take one of my sleep aid pills tonight because I cannot keep doing this lack of sleep thing.

Last night my husband and I went to dinner at a place called Charley's.  We had never been before, but it was nice to try something new.  They serve cheesesteaks and other hot sandwiches like that.  I had a small and it was more than enough!  My husband ordered a regular and it was twice as big as mine.  After dinner we went to see Man of Steel,  I had seen it in Branson, but my husband left before we went, so I saw it again with him.  We used a Groupon that I had bought for a local theater where we got two tickets, two drinks and two popcorns.  I ate about one-third of mine and then gave to rest to my husband.  He LOVES popcorn and I think he finished both his and mine, even after his big dinner.

Tomorrow is Chick-Fil-A's Cow Appreciation Day. What this means is that is you dress like a cow, you get either a free entree or an entire free meal, depending on how much of a cow you are (the details can be found here.  Note: when I tried to link to the actual page, it wouldn't work.  Their site got flooded around this time last year so I attached a cached page instead.).  Last year I made shirts for my husband and I and this year I am going to add pants and hopefully some head gear so that we qualify as head-to-toe (free food yay!).  Since we aren't really changing sizes drastically, I don't mind spending some time on our clothes since they work every year.

This morning I worked on adding more spots to our shirts.  I only had about 3 hours to get them ready for last year so each shirt had a grand total of 5 cow spots on them, all on the front.  So I spent this morning adding more spots to the front and giving the back some spots as well.  This afternoon I hope to add some spots to the sides and arms to make us all cow-ish.

In the middle of painting I got a nice surprise, a call from my mom!  She is still in the hospital and kinda drugged, but we were able to have a coherent conversation.  It was nice to hear her voice.  She sounded sleepy and after about 10 minutes she got off to go back to sleep.  I did find out that she goes back in for surgery again tomorrow.  During that time they will determine if it is safe to stitch up her wounds or not. If they do stitch up her wounds, she will probably get to go home.  If not she will probably be stuck at the hospital for several days.

After putting some paint on the shirts, I had to do something while I waited for them to dry so I went upstairs and worked on cleaning the bathroom.  After about an hour or so, the bathroom was all clean and shiny, including our floors!  Woot!  Now the only thing left on my house cleaning project list is to vacuum the upstairs.  Since my husband is home today and is studying, I will wait until he is at a good pausing place so that I can run the vacuum around without disturbing him too much.

That time ended up being right after lunch so after eating I headed up the stairs to vacuum.   It felt so good to have the whole house really clean again.  After that I worked on the cow costumes for a bit and then my husband asked if I could give him a haircut.  He has asked a few times over the last week and I felt bad that I hadn't done it yet, so I told him yes and about 30 minutes later we were outside cutting his hair.  Normally I give him his haircuts in the bathroom, but since I just cleaned I suggested we do it outside.

After he got his haircut, I went for a run with my friend.  Today I had intervals scheduled and, since she is faster than me, I had her set the pace for the intervals (my interval pace was about her normal pace).  She really liked doing intervals with me and suggested that she might switch from running with me on Mondays and Wednesdays to running with me on Mondays and Thursdays so that she can do the intervals.

After my shower, I went to a planning meeting for the Toddler/Pre-K sunday school class that I teach once a month.  It was a good time, getting to chat with the other teachers and plan for the next couple of months.  This class covers the ages from 2-5, so there is a wide variety in the kiddos we have which can cause some challenges, which we talked about.

Hopefully I will sleep well tonight.  I am taking my over-the-counter sleep aid, which usually helps (my husband and I call it my "sleepy time" medicine.)
