After we took them to the airport, I came back and worked on resetting from the visit. I spent the morning putting things back where they belonged, editing pictures from the visit (I have found if I don't do it right away, I never will) and cleaning the main level of the house.
After lunch, I did the dishes and then took a nice long nap! I was so tired from the run and the early hours today that I really needed it. I slept for 2 hours! It was wonderful!
After lunch I worked on updating the pictures in our house. My husband and I have been married for 5 years and I really haven't updated the photos in our frames since our first anniversary or so. So I spent a good chunk of the afternoon deciding on which pictures to replace and which pictures to replace them with. Since I was gaining weight for most of our marriage, it is hard for me to pick some of those pictures. However, for the small pictures I can deal with it. Often they are good memories and people who look at the more often ask about the picture than comment on my weight. I also had to work hard to find a place that prints 3x5 pictures. Once I found a place I could only ship them, so my two 3x5 pictures cost more than my 8x10. Oh well! It will be worth it to have the frames full with new pictures.
My husband's table at his morning bible study is in charge of bringing breakfast for tomorrow morning so he asked me to make the cinnamon roll french toast casserole he like a lot. He saw it while looking over my shoulder while I was browsing Pinterest and it was delicious! It is the only the has he looked at on Pinterest and said, "That looks good. You should make it." and it was delicious, so he is currently batting 1000 on that front. He went to the store and got the ingredients for me and I made it. I will have to get up early to put it in the oven, but I can go back to sleep afterwards, so that will be ok.
After dinner, we played a game and then I did some organizing of the cabinet where I store my plastic containers. A few years ago, I bought two of the same set of matching containers on Black Friday. There are 6 different sizes, but only 3 different sizes of lids. They have been great and I love them, but the space I have to store them is really too small, but it is the only place I have. That cabinet needs reorganized more often because of the lack of space and it has gotten rather bad lately. It looks much better and I think everything will fit (right now there are several containers missing because they are storing leftovers).

Before and After |
I spent the remainder of the evening researching about what GPS watch I should request for my birthday. I don't need a really fancy one and am currently debating 3 options: (1) Garmin Forerunner 110 with heart rate monitor, (2) Garmin Forerunner 10 and (3) Nike + Sportwatch. My aunt has the Garmin 310, but I don't know anyone who has any of these watches. I think I want to be able to have a heart rate monitor (which the 10 doesn't have) but I am not sure even of that. I know very few people actually read this, but if anyone has one of these or even know someone who does, I would love to hear any opinion. I've read so many reviews at this point that it make my brain hurt.
I don't know what type she has but Katie over at runs for cookies would be a great one to ask for advice about a garmin. Particularly if you have heart rate questions. She has been training by heart rate zone lately. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice. Reading about Katie doing her heart rate training is actually the reason I even thought about getting a heart rate monitor! She has the 910 and had the 305 (which Garmin doesn't make anymore). The 910 ($400) and the newer model of the 305, the 310 ($225) are both more than I want to spend and seem a bit bulky for me (I have rather small hands and wrists).
DeleteI have a Garmin 410 and I love it! We got it reconditioned and it came with a heart monitor for about $70. It has only 3 fields for data, and the one that Katie has has 4 fields - but its a lot of extra money to add that extra field!
ReplyDeleteYou can see most of the watches on You Tube and they will tell you all of the functions they have.
