Painting Party

This morning I woke up at around 7 and had my breakfast with a cup of tea.  I have gone through phases before where I would have a cup of tea (decaf) before bed, especially during the winter.  However, on our trip I had an English Breakfast tea with my breakfast on two occasions and I really enjoyed it.  I thought it might be something nice to have on weekend mornings so I bought some at the store.  It was really rather good, at least once I added cream, Splenda and a sprinkle of cinnamon.  I think that tea may become part of my weekend morning ritual.

After breakfast and lazing around the house a bit, a spent an hour or so editing, organizing and ordering pictures.  Some pictures were for me, some for a friend and some for my Grandma (the pictures she had were rather out of date of us).  It took some time, mostly because I had to find the pictures I wanted to edit since some of them were a little bit old.  Also, I had to do two different orders, one that was sent to me and and one that will be sent to my Grandma (they had free shipping, so that wasn't a problem at all).

In doing the editing, I realized that I am still avoiding being in pictures.  I still always try to be the one with the camera and not the one in the photos.  When I was 30+ pounds heavier, it was because I felt uncomfortable but since I am not that same weight (or really even that same person) I need to stop avoiding it.  I have few pictures of my husband and me together at the places we go and I am really starting to miss having them.  I asked my husband to make me give away the camera more often and he said he would gladly do so.

After that, I went over to a friend's house to help her paint their playroom and living room.  She had gotten another friend to help us, so it went rather quickly, 5 hours for two big rooms with two coats.  I did have to do some roller duty (ick!) because I couldn't reach the top part of the trim, even with the step ladder we had.  I felt really short!

The grey-brown color we painted. The odd splotches are just where the paint was still wet.
After that I went home through the pouring rain.  It has rained every day since I got back to Ohio and I am a bit sick of it.  I am really glad that I didn't wash my car before I headed back on my trip.  I really thought about it because my car was absolutely nasty, but knew it would probably get dirty again on my way home.  It is fairly clean now with all the rain we have been having.

After I got home, I mostly just relaxed until bedtime.  I did do some editing of photos for another project but not much else that was productive.
